Bright, brilliant colors. I like the small, courrier font: it's unusual and unobtrusive.

It's amazing. The title makes me wonder if the contents of the mortar and pestle cup are poisonous? A little belladona or hemlock maybe?

I believe it is the way the light plays in this scene that it reminds me of the "Delft lighting" (natural lighting streaming in from the window) that Vermeer used in much of his paintings. The lighting and the scene speaks of "comfort" of being comfortable with one's surroundings...as in that when one is familiar with a place or certain objects one is comfortable with their surrounding. I was kind of hoping that I would see more of a reflection of the room in the objects on the table, but nonetheless it is a good piece.
